Future360 attended the Cleantech Open Academy in San Jose, where over 100 entrepreneurs from around the country congregated for the commencement of five month long boot camp. The three day intensive training session brought together experts, mentors and sponsors who provided practical training and instruction for the entrepreneurs on all aspects of company building, from legal to pitching, software design to business model development.
A highlight for the companies was a presentation by retired serial entrepreneur, Steve Blank. Blank spoke about lean startup methodology and provided a new tool set for building a successful company which includes: business model design; customer feedback; and agile engineering. Some lucky entrepreneurs event received one on one coaching from Steve in an entertaining, interactive format.
The companies will receive mentoring over the next five months, culminating in regional winners competing at the Cleantech Open Global Forum in November. For more information visit cleantechopen.org
