Future360 interviews BIlly Parish, Co-Founder and President of Mosaic, a crowd-funded solar investment platform. Having worked in the climate and energy space for many years, Parish saw that not many people have been able to participate in the solar revolution. Solar is the most popular clean energy, 92% of people want it, yet only 0.01% of people have it. Parish saw an opportunity to allow more people to participate and profit from clean energy.
Parish saw crowdfunding as the direction that energy and finance was heading. While banks are suited to funding big energy projects, like constructing new power plants, they're not equipped to funding a $100K rooftop solar project. Mosaic answers this market need by allowing people to invest directly.
As a student a Yale, Parish described himself as "on the tracks". But a trip to India -- where he witnessed a melting glacier -- changed his course of his life. Parish dropped out of Yale to found the Energy Action Coalition. With 300K members, it's still the biggest youth organization in the world working on climate.
A true energy innovator, Parish also shares his thoughts on purpose, the importance of mentors, and what good leadership looks like. Visit https://joinmosaic.com/ for more information.
